CJBC Club Rules

*1 - Membership & Facility fee,

a) This fee is required for all members to continue to play in the CJBC facilities. Four schedule options are available.

i) One-fixed-day players are only allowed to attend on the day registered while can play on an extra day with a pay-per-play fee. For example, if you choose one fixed day on Tuesday, then you are assigned to Tuesday play, and you will need to pay-per-play*5 if you want to play on other day.

ii) One-flexible-day members are allowed to play on any and only one day during the week and to pay-per-play*5 on extra days.

iii) Two-flexible-day members are allowed to play on any two days during the week and to pay-per-play*5 on the 3rd day during the same week.

iv) All three day members can play on any of the three day of the week.

b) Player needs to designate the primary play day(s) of week for flexi option.

c) There is no make-up play for any member. If the member misses the play date he/she register for due to any reason, it cannot be made up in other days or weeks.

d) There may be some closings that CJBC cannot control and should not be responsible for. CJBC reserves the right of cancelling up to 2 days of each day of the week per season without making up although CJBC board will try the best to make the facility available and to make up play as much as possible.

*2 -Discounts

a) All additional family members from the same household and student are entitled to a discounted fee.

b) Student membership includes full-time undergraduate college students, but not graduate students.

c) Early-bird discount is available for season members who register before a specified date.

*3 - Shuttlecock Coupon

a) Shuttlecock coupon is non-refundable but transferable.

b) Shuttlecock coupons are only available to members. A shuttle coupon account is automatically created upon registration and associated with the membership ID.

c) Number of shuttlecocks is automatically deducted based on players' attendance marked by coordinators. An email notification will follow to notify the status of coupon.

d) Sharing Rule -- Shuttlecock fee can be shared among family members. If member A pays the fee and agrees to share his/her coupon with member B, one shuttlecock coupon will be deducted from A's account whenever B shows up to play with or without A's attendance. If a member doesn't have a dedicated sharing coupon and he/she doesn't want to purchase a shuttlecock coupon, this member need to pay $3 shuttlecock fee in cash each time he/she plays.

*4 -Trial Play

a) Non-members are allowed to do trial play with trial fee of $25.00. A $10 refund will be issued after being verified as the first time trial.

b) All trial play fee within the same month as the registration date can be deducted from the membership & facility fee when they decide to sign up with regular schedule. However, no refund for trial fee paid in past months.

*5 - Pay-per-play and Trial Play

a) Fixed day members may play on a different date from the one(s) they registered for. Flexible day members may play extra days during a week, too. They will be required to pay a $10 fee using shuttlecock coupon or a $13 fee without a coupon deduction.

6 - Refund Policy

a) Membership fee is non-refundable unless a member has notified the club during the first two weeks after the start of season and has not played yet in any of the facilities.

b) Facility fee is refundable under the following terms:

(1) Within two weeks after the start of season - A full refund less the number of games played at the pay-per-play rate.

(2) Between the 3rd weeks to the 8th weeks after the start of season - A 50% refund of the facility fee paid less the number of games played at the pay-per-play rate.

(3) No refund after the 8th week.

c) Refund check is issued via electronic checking. Hence, a valid post address and phone number are required for verification.

7 - Game Rules: In order to accommodate all players to play equally, fairly and smoothly, all player need to follow the waiting list rules.

a) Each member will receive an ID card after registering with CJBC membership.

b) Everyone who plays should hang his/her ID card in the court of choice nearest to the net.

c) After playing, take your ID card and hang it at the end of the waiting list for available courts.

d) If someone else's ID card is there, place your ID card next in line and your turn will follow in the order your ID card is in.

e) No shuffling of IDs in waiting without notification to the coordinators on site. No one should move other members' ID card in the waiting list for any reason.

f) If the next group cannot get enough players to start a new game after 2 minutes of drilling time. They can either start a single, single-vs-double game or continue drilling for 15 minutes. As soon as the countdown starts, other member can join the group ONLY to finish the current game or 15-minite drilling instead of starting a new game.

*8- Referral Program

The membership referral program rewards with free shuttle coupons to existing members who refer new members. This program does not apply to renewal of existing or former CJBC members.
